Hello everybody ! I hope you enjoyed with your week, because I really had a great time during these days. Last week started with intercultural party, which was organized by the students of the technical university. It was amazing. Seven country was participating in this event. Each country was presenting its national dance, rest of the people were just repeating movements and tried to dance all together .We definitely had a great fun. Also this event help us to make new  local friends. Students were really nice.

The next day  we went in Copalnic to present one of the project called- “photovoice”. Pupils from this school seemed very motivated. They were involved in each activity and wanted to know more about project. It was easy to work with them despite the language barrier. After the school we hitchhike till the home. We met very nice woman, who was a teacher and could speak in English and Spanish fluently. It was really nice to be in her company.

At the same day was our friends birthday . We wanted to make something nice for her , so after the copalnic we came in office and said happy birthday to her with a little cake and big smile J After this we continued having fun during all night in the club. It feels really good when you are with friendly and amazing people.

On Monday we were working in the office and doing beautiful little boxes for the candles. These boxes were the main details for the day against violence against women,which was held on Tuesday . In  the  old centre we made an unforgettable decoration by these boxes. Everybody were interested in what we were doing. Also media was with us. Despite the cold weather event went incredibly.

For the first time we visited Romani centre alone, only four girls, without coordinator and other volunteers.  We made some activities for them and they enjoyed with it. Children painted our national flags , then got to know our traditional dances and in the end we ask them to show how looks their gipsy dances. It was beautiful, they were dancing with passion and they were proud because of their traditions.

On Wednesday my three beautiful girls and me went in kindergarten. They were so cute. Despite their age ( 4 years old ) they were really clever children. After the kindergarten I was full of good emotions and it lasted the whole day.

On the same day I had Romanian lessons. I am starting to speak in Romanian a little bit, but it really is a difficult language. I hope after the ten month I will be able to communicate freely with local people. My teacher is really motivated and that’s why  I believe I can do it J)

On Thursday our coordinator –Dede made a” city hunt “. Day started in the morning and lasted till the 4 pm. We were wandering in the city and tried to do all the tasks which were written on the paper . We had great fun. When we were finishing we got lost in the city. We started asking local people about destination and the most interesting thing was that everybody had a different answer. But anyway it was great team work. We did it together ! J After the hard day Judith and me went in the gym. I love that amazing feeling after the exercise when u feel completely free and relaxed.

First days in Romania

Hello everybody !   I am  Sopo -   EVS  volunteer  from Georgia  and the happiest one for being a part of this great organization. I arrived in baia mare almost three weeks  ago  and still everything is going perfect. People are really great and welcoming, I feel like I am at home, that’s why it isn’t  difficult to be far away from my relatives and from my close  friends. I am living with three fantastic girls from France, German and Irland and I think that we  are really great team- at home and at office too. Flat is really great and comfortable. It is in the center of the town and I can find everything what I need just neaby. Today I am going to join the gym with Judith and Salome. Healthy life is always the best decision.  Romania is the best place for hiking . last week my friends and I were on hike and it was really great-beautiful nature, nice walk in the forest and good friends.

For the beginnig we have some trainings in office. We should work with children and young people, that’s why people from ymca help us to adapt and they give us chance use our ideas , it’s good for our development. I already was  in high schools and in kindergarden too.  I enjoied with these meeting, they were so nice to us and everybody was  involved in different activities which our team made for them.
